Both properties below have a flood zone on them, but the risk to insured buildings are not the same. Automated flood determinations sometimes unnecessarily require buildings to have flood insurance when only a portion of the land is in a flood zone, even if the structure itself is outside of the flood zone. Agricultural and rural properties are at the greatest risk of error. Our manual review process assesses the position of the structure specifically, not the land in general.
